After drinking, Femara acts as an inhibitor of aromatase, an enzyme involved in estrogen formation. The mechanism of action is related to the inhibition of the cytochrome P450 genome in the context of aromatase. In long-term monitoring and administration of the drug causes a decline in estrogen activity of 75 to 95% compared to the base.
The recommended dose of Femara is between 0.25 and 2.5 mg per day, depending on the needs of the body and the tolerance of the application. The use of the drug generally takes place according to one of two possible schemes 1 – starting with the prophylactic use for the rate of prevention of complications related to estrogen steroids; 2 – additional connection throughout the steroid cycle for the treatment of estrogen after the development of complications of their primary symptoms. Regardless of the method used, the drug is able to effectively prevent the occurrence of estrogen-related side effects, such as fluid retention, fat mass growth, and gynecomastia in men.
